Photographer's Note

Shooting a school portfolio and had set up this scene to show the children working on an experiment where the girl has a test tube in the flame of the bunson burner. It will eventually heat up and then something magical happens. Unfortunately, everytime it was set up she managed to drop the test tube, as she did here. For me though, it does show a more natural look. It shows how they do have a good time at school, I think.
On another note. Never work with children and animals!!!
Just kidding ;-)
Oh, and she never did do the experiment properly.

hello Mark,
this is a nice, natural scene. I like the humour and it's nicely composed. You have obviously put her at her eae, but perhaps more so than she should have been, judhing by her inability to concentrate on the task at hand.

Now that's what I call a test-tube baby, Mark. I always dropped that damn thing, too. Couldn't they come up with a more efficient form of tongs? Nice spontaneity and color in this one. (Maybe a little hot on the fill flash . . . but it goes with her smile. ) Best, -Hugh

I like the feeling of spontaneity in this shot. The look on the girl's face is beautifully complemented by the expression of the lad on the right. Thanks for sharing.

soft colours and perfect light, not the most easy lightconditions to photograph !

Hi Mark, I have been checking your gallery every now & then and must have missed this when you posted it. Nice informal shot, and actually the composition is just right. This shot reminds me of something really stupid that I did in a chemistry lesson once that could have injured someone (the teacher said). No protective goggles in them days.
