Photographer's Note
St Pancras railway station in London is the end terminal of the Eurostar high speed train connection with Continental Europe through the channel tunnel. It opened in 1868, luckily escaped demolition in the 1960s and was extensively renovated in the 2000s. The building is a work of art in its own right, the brick building as well as the single-span overall roof of open ironwork that covers the tracks, which at the time of completion was the largest such structure in the world.
After the renovation, different artworks were introduced of which this one is a highly peculiar example. It is a work by artists Lucy and Jorge Orta called "Cloud: Meteoros", meteoros being the Greek word for "hanging in between heaven and earth". The work replaced the Olympic rings hung at the same spot for the London Olympic games of 2012. It consists of two cloud forms made of raisin with realistic bronze like human travelers with bags and backpacks. I think its totally original.

Hi Tony,
a very nice photo and an interesting note telling the story. I wish all railway stations were as artistic-looking as this one. Great work for sure. Love the clock.
Not the best light but you managed it perfectly.
Best wishes!

Hello Tony
A nice record of this artwork. I think it is possibly original as you say but as a concept people living in the clouds is nothing knew since it is related to the idea of there being a heaven etc.
I like the contrast of the artwork with the old structure of the station and the clock - it's only a matter of time before we too end up in the clouds (if we are lucky!).

re Tony
une scène qui attire l'oeil, mais les nuages ne sont pas assez mis en valeur, ton cliché est trop clair, pas assez contrasté ---> WS
Bonne journée

this is also TE: I don t know at all this city quiet close to mine, but u give us a nice view of one of the well known London places... those clouds are great, and even if I would perhaps had given more colours and contrast, the view is great. thanks for the dream

Hi Tony,
This one is quite interesting to me, as I visited the station two years ago. And indeed there were olympic rings instead of these clouds.
Quite imaginative art quite appropriate to the place. Thanks for showing! Light is not optimal, and I guess it never is in that place.
