Photographer's Note
Picadilli Circus, London.
There were thousands of tourists pointing their cameras to the illuminated ad signs – TDK, SANYO, and COCA-COLA. But I was looking for a different souvenir.
The poles of the railing around the square have very interesting tops. The bronze coating is damaged due to massive use of thousands of hands everyday, but still, I could see the whole square in it.
So here I am – a great souvenir, a self-portrait and the illuminated ad signs – TDK, SANYO, COCA-COLA – and Picadilli Circus.

And there he is again, Yitzhak, the master of unusual views ! :)
Didn't I read somewhere that if you stand where all the other photographers stand you will make ordinary photos that all the others also have ?
You pointed out very well here that the other way works better.
BTW too bad that I'm out of workshops today, I did one here, with a drastic cropping so that only the picture in the pole is seen without the surrounding. Looks great in my opinion, much more artistic. But that is again only personal opinion ;-)
Thanks for sharing such a great idea. Yours, Jan

Great photo, and a very different take on a well-known scene. Like you say in your note, you managed to get everything in one shot! Lovely colors and gooc composition. Very well done!

A blatent and obvious reflection of yourself here Yitzhak, and I like it. Great buildings too in the reflection, and the pitted ball adds a lot to the effect. Maybe a tighter crop to remove the plain sky on the right and have only building in the background. Well done.

Great shot, Yitzhak. I like this new way you have discovered of taking panoramic photos. You really have managed to include so many building and roads leading into Piccadilly Circus. Very well done. The bronze also creates interesting colours.

nice self-portrait! very clever idea. without the sky on the right side would be even better - the background fully filled, but i like it this way too. but i dont like much this orange frame ;) anyway, it is an interesting self-portrait

This is very interesting. I like the cropping and the idea of having a self-portrait taken this way. Very good picture. DOF is also well-selected to just make us focus in the reflection.

Great idea and work-out, Yitzhak. I like how you found a natural fish-eye lens and a color filter...
Still, I´m not sure about the background – I think the image works without it – I posted a WS...

Idée originale Yitzhak, cette photo me fait penser à du fish-eye !
Pas facile de trouver un angle sans prendre le photographe en même temps.
Très bien fait. Bien vu également les ateliers.
Original idea Yitzhak, this photograph makes me think of fish-eye! Not easy to find an angle without taking the photographer at the same time. Very well done. Well considering also the workshops.

Only you.... Very original idea that you got here. I dont think that anybody has ever taken a shot of that square this way. I really like all the details in the reflection. Great one, bravo...

Well, everybody said it already, so I'm going to sound like a broken record by mentioning that his is a great example of your creativity and photographer's eye at work. Excellent use of the bronze coating not only as a medium to reflect Picadilly Circus (and the artist), but also the texture of the thing is quite interesting. Also it's a way to take a panorama that helps Adam to conserve some server resources ;-) Well done, Yitzhak. I wonder how many people imitated your excercise after they saw what you did.

A great shot Yitzhak. I love the damaged surface of the brass ball and the way the buildings have been distorted. Full marks for such a clever idea.

Somewhat of a self-portrait. Beautifully captured and well-seen, like so many of yours.

Yes, this is an unusual composition, but I think it's rather ingenious and creative.
Your face has been revealed, at last :)
Well done.

That's it. Thanks for the lesson. That is all they teach us, isn't it. Just do the opposite of what everybody else does. But it doesn't always come out as nice as this. Fantastic bronze colour and lovely dof but nevertheless clearly a London building in the background. And this one can go into the theme "Photographers at work" I think.

Yes - I have taken many photos on picadilli square - but never this one - very well spotted and I like your "gold frame" - Thanks for sharing Yitzhak.

Amusing composition together with you in the very center of it Yitzhak! Your posture is very artistic, as is the picture itself of course...:-) Well, it certainly is not rust this time, but the bronze with its reflections works finely here too! Very well seen indeed!
