Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
The title reflects the significance of this memorial.
This memorial was unveiled by Julian and Cynthia Lennon on what would have been John Lennon's 70th Birthday. It is the European Peace Monument and the fact that it dedicated to John is a fitting tribute to John’s enduring message of peace.
It is located opposite the Echo Arena, near Albert Dock, maybe a good place to consider your memories of John and the possibility of world peace.
We passed this beautiful memorial as we were walking to meet up with our friends for our TE get-together in Liverpool. I must admit, it gave me a lump in my throat! I tried to include part of the wheel, almost like a halo around the memorial. Have I gone too far ...!
Thank you for sharing the photograph. I wish you a peaceful day, Bev :-)

Hi Bev
Such a sad a stupid waste of a very talented man. Even 35+ years later after his murder, Lennon's legacy lives on. A good upward pov on the colorful beetle sculpture decorating the Ferris Wheel, not to be confused with beatle! Tfs!

Hello Bev
I think this is a very strong image compositionally and I like your chosen POV which places the peace memorial perfectly within the wheel that gives it a frame and a symbolic aura like some giant satellite dish transmitting peace to the world - shame the protestors we came across were not receptive to it.
Great image - I think this is possibly my favourite of yours, ever.
Have a good day.

Hello Beverly,
The Beetle monument with the big-wheel as a backdrop's, was well premeditated POV, and a very colorful one.
The Liverpool-docks is all about the Beetle's heritage, I was there in 08/1993 long before the sad murder of the genius JL.
Every friday afternoon between 16:00 and 17:00 on our 88FM radio station, there is a series of the Beetle's tales and of course songs playing - somthing which our generation grew with.
Many thanks for sharing this one, nice composition.
Ike
*** P.S.
Most I loved the song "Martha-my-Dear" by PM, this represents their unique ability to introduce special harmonic's and variable beats in a simple played Jazz.

Hello Bev,
What a timely photo during our descent down a slipper road, a virtual perfect storm in the Middle East. The angle you've chosen with the monument and the wheel could not be better.
Warm regards,

Hello Bev,
This is an original monument which looked even more original until I realized that what looked like a ferris wheel being part of the monument actually is a ferris wheel standing further back ;-).
It would have been interesting to see one or two workshops from other angles.
Kind regards,
Gert

Bonjour Beverly,
Tu as réussi à bien capter l'atmosphère d'une fête foraine dans cette composition. J'aime beaucoup la juxtaposition des éléments colorés et majestueux.J'aime la profondeur de champs et le rendu des couleurs.

Hello Beverley,
What a beautiful photo of this memorial. It is so colourful and the musical notes leave no doubt to whom this peace monument is a tribute. You also made perfect use of the wheel in the background.

Hi Beverley,an excellent composition with the memorial filling the frame, backed by the curves of the big wheel, which in my opinion strengthens the composition even more.
The colours of the memorial are quite unusual but quite beautiful.
Certainly something to look for if I ever go to Liverpool again.
Thanks for sharing,regards Jean.

Hi Bev,
my new upload from Liverpool as well refers to the Beatles in a way.
Interesting spot. I never went this far towards the wheel. I guess I should also to actually ride the wheel as it may create some opportunities for photography.
Very nice subject here and I believe not that well known. The context of the big wheel is quite attractive.
Very well spotted!!
It appears our meeting was quite fruitful!

Dear Beverley,
You managed to work out an excellent composition with the giant wheel in the background. The light conditions weren't easy as I see, but neither the highlights are burned out, nor the shadows are blacked out. Nice picture.

Hello Bev,
An interesting memorial for John Lennon of his sun and first wife.
A monument for peace dedicated to John Lennon. Is obvious. I do still remember the Bed In For Peace in Amsterdam.
Fascinating is the different style of John and Yoko that time and this monument.
I like your presentation with the Ferris wheel on the background.
