Photographer's Note
Today’s post shows another view of Beggar’s Bridge, taken on the same day as all my recent posts. I included an extensive history of it in yesterday's post
I wanted to show how narrow it is and have an opportunity to post the photo you will see in the WS. The road bridge is just out of sight on the left. Notice there is still some frost on the grass.
Originally Beggar’s Bridge was used for pack horses but nowadays it is only open to walkers. Apparently it wasn’t suitable for horses and carts; take a look at the WS. I found this photo of Beggar’s Bridge in a frame mouldering away in the garden shed. It used to belong to my grandparents-in-law, but why they would want such a photo on the wall is beyond my understanding. When you get over your concern for the welfare of the poor horse, you can’t help wondering how, in those days, a photographer would just be passing by. He would take an age setting up his equipment

Jolies couleurs et lumières.

I like this one a lot. It has a wonderful lead into the scene. I like the frost on the ground as well. A lot frostier than the Big Smoke. The direction of the light is really good as well, and a good wintery feeling is conveyed here. Surprised at how narrow the bridge is, but it is very old so not surprisingly it wasn't built for cars and traffic!
Aubrey
PS thanks for the link notes. I'll try it soon. Have a great weekend.

Also very good, the previous post is more complex and elaborated but this one has beautiful colors and a lot of depth. The frost is a definitive bonus.
As for the workshop...poor horse!!!

hi kasia, the place itself seems to be very nice, abut i like the way you present us with it - today the vertical framing allows for presenting the tall trees which presence underlines the age of the bridge;
nice work,
have a nice weekend, jerzy

Hello Kath,
A very nice shot and very interesting to see the brige from this angle. Wonderful with the sunlight on the bridge and the very dark background. A really good job!

Hi Kath
Another fine photo of the bridge - a nice winter's shot with the frost on the ground. Good colours and sharpness.
Your workshop picture is very interesting - it makes you wonder how the poor horse came to be in that predicament?

Hello Kath,
this is a very colourful picture ! Very different from your previous ones, and I don't mean by that, that the others are less good.
best regards,
Luc.

Nice shot and great composition. I like the 'lead in' with the bridge from the bottom left to the centre of the picture. Great colours with the sky, trees and grass and fantastic detail with the frost covered ground. Well captured.

Hi Kath.
Very nice composition and lovely, really lovely colours.
Perhaps the bridge is a bite overexposed, but anyway looks very pretty.
The sharpness is also good, even when all the little details of the trees could make it a little difficult.
It's a nice work.
Regards.

The frost creates a strong atmosphere and inspires you. The dof is perfect and gives the wish to cross that bridge.
A lovely path.

Hi Kath,
Well framed and colorful this one, here again you got very good light and as a result rich colors, I like the mix of green, warm brown and icy white colors on the pathway.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Kath, Without reading the time, I can figure out from the scene that this is a cold morning. The sun was just coming out. The frost on the ground began to melt out.
A beautiful morning walk to the woods, leading by the old stone bridge. A beautiful shot with nice contrast. Thanks for sharing the fun picture in the WS.

Hi Kath. Another nice view you have of this bridge. I like how it teases us then disappears into the woods. That WS is something else. I thought it was odd there was no rail on this bridge. Nice catch Kath.
