A superb pov, with the focus on the roof eaves. Ps: What is the significance of 'Albion' in relation to British patriotism? Saw it mentioned on TL. Cheers

hi kev, kind of a good idea to scroll through the old files of photos; and another good idea to shoot pictures over the roofs, indeed;
just a bit massy composition, but i like the pov;

I´ve seen once a picture of Withby, what a romantic place!
so beautiful the detail of the roof, the curve, the roof top line that leads the eye to the boat and to the rest of the city.
love this golden light.
good sunday for you :) you brought me memories (I almost got married with an Englishman!)

I like this view across the harbour, Richard. The tilled roof makes an interesting foreground, before the view of the town opens up. Regards Kevin

Hi Richard - this is the 2nd critique I give to 1980 today, and as I wrote to ChrisJ, I am very impressed by the preservation, if only I had taken better care of mine. I really like the rooftop angle and the nice architecture. I went there in 2000, it's a very lovely town.

This is a special POV,and I like it,Richard.
The strong thing is the side of light that I enjoy here,with a nice contrast,...and nice to see the boat from here,too,very well captured and well composed,great details and colors.

Hello Richard
It's always an interesting exercise to see how a photographer [or painter] deals with a really familiar subject.This one manages to avoid being just one more photo of much- photographed Whitby mainly by it's seagulls-eye view and wonderful bold sweep of roof ridge.It has made me think that perhaps I should have another 'go' at Whitby myself.
