Photographer's Note

The second in a series of shots taken at Blyth Harbour, In Northumberland.

This particular turbine was spinning much faster that the one in my first post (click here to see), and the blades have recorded only as a faint blur - I think I need to go back on calmer day!

I've used a polariser here to darken the sky slightly, and cut out the shiny reflections on the turbine and hut. I'll post a version taken without polariser for comparison. A 0.6 ND Grad was also used to balance the exposures of foreground and sky.

Look carefully in the background, and you can see waves crashing over the harbour wall - an indication of just how rough the sea was on this day.
