Photographer's Note
Lindisfarne castle again. Given my previous notes there's not much more to add other than this was taken earlier in the day in much better light than other shots, with the tide out obviously.
The title is a reference to the song by Jimi Hendrix. The line from the song "And so castles made of sand fall in the sea, eventually" seems to fit with this image given the reflection of the castle - perhaps prophesying its future demise... eventually.
Enjoy.

Hello Mike,
Obviously there is no limit to the number of photos that could be taken from roughly the same place here. This one is pretty much a perfect composition: boat balancing castle, horizontal layers of mud, almost water, green hill, lovely sky. The reflections are terrific even at low tide and the colours mild but distinct. This could be a perfect postcard to be sold at the castle, but it's probably not conventional enough.
Best wishes,
Gert

Michael hi,
At first one might think this is Mont St Michel. Beautifully captured, the colour sequence leads naturally up to the clouds or down to the brown sand, depth, sharpness all excellent.

Hello Michael ,
As Gert said , may be not the perfect postcard , because the mix of the beach at low tide and the sky creates a stunning effect . The colmposition is great , with the little boat providing a good balance to the amazing castle .

Hello Mike,
What a place for fascinating pictures. This boat is still a boar although on the sand. Fantastic view of the castle on the not so big green hill. Lovely view in the low tide time. Nice reflections but the sky with small clouds is wonderful too.

Hello Mike,
I was so busy looking at how the sky is enhancing the view of the strongly placed castle that, I only noticed the reflection after reading your notes. Now I have seen it, It's hard not to notice it!!
I love the f/g details of criss-cross lines in the sand, they complement the patterns in the sky, so that the boat and the castle become distinct features in a world of patterns!
It's lovely!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
Hope you are fine, too. Len and I are doing just fine though we are incredibly sad about the health of our dear friend who has cancer. You will know how we are feeling!

Hi Mike
Hats off for the children who constructed this enormous sand castle! The clouds seem to issue from it and are a good counter point to the sand beach at low tide, the boatb equilibrates perfectly the castle
have a nice WE

That's the one I was waiting for, Michael.
A fine shot at low tide, a boat "rest" on the brown foreground leading the viewer towards the castle and a strip of green between.
The sky aloft are no less beautiful.
My cong.'s for that imposing scene.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hi Mike
Gorgeous composition with lots of depth and that great clouds just lingered above the old castle adding such a drama. The boat seemed sufficient foreground for me and this represents what you saw in an appropriate scale. A cracker! Congrats
Best wishes

Hi there Mike
Great sky and there's a weird effect to this picture which seems 'flattened'...if you know what I mean, a bit like a painting. Texture on the boat is a bit strange too. But don't get me wrong, strange means I like it.

Hi Mike
Nice series of images from Lindisfarne. Much as I liked the b&w presentation and the upside down boat, this is also a great shot with the photogenic clouds, reflection in the wet sabd and sea at low tide well used as foreground. Plus of course the composition according to the rule of thirds.
Your last note (about Will) made me laugh. :-)
Re trains: we are expecting 5 strikes (each 3 days' long) between next Tuesday and Xmas.
Have a nice Sunday

Hi Mike
Your previous post was really the one I should have said "Snap" to! But this little colourful beauty is worth a comment too: well-defined sky, perfect deep depth of focus, thoughtful framing and composition on the thirds principle. A classic of its kind.

Hi Mike,
Texture of wet sand mixing with remaining low tide water goes well with those fluffy clouds. The castle is unresistible main focal point and the boat balances the composition perfectly.

Hi, Mike,
ha, we can't make something without a reference to rock music, right? Excellent composition and marvelous colors!
This wet soil and the boat remind me a low tide. And "High Tide Or Low Tide" song by BOB MARLEY ))
Best wishes!
