Photographer's Note

Once again doing a dive into my archive and past.
2011 was a year of travel of various types. Business, or like this, for pleasure.

Me and a colleague rented a car and hada proper drive around the highlands of Scotland. First stop was Balmoral, the Royal Residence of the North, Royal Lochnagar whisky distillery and the village of Braemar.

Various photos were shot, but it was this photo that later cought my attention from all the others. As we were leaving Braemar and preparing to enter the proper highlands there was an old stone bridge presenting this magnificent view.
Not the stereotypical moor and loch landscape of the Scottish Highlands, but the rolling hills and forests that I have witnessed in everything from films and stories.

The view here is east- by south-east over the river Dee and looking towards the mountains just south of Balmoral Castle.

I will go back some time, but then with more time and hopefully warmer weather ;)
