Mussels, a photo from Highland, Scotland

Photographer's Note

Armadale is the harbour on Skye where the ferries dock having come over from Mallaig on the mainland of Scotland.
I took this while waiting for said Ferry - the mussels are clustered around one of the pier supports. I only noticed the little fish after I looked at the pic on my PC.

I realise the highlights are a bit burnt out, but I haven't been able to do anything about that. Workshop welcome.

Hello Morag,
The little fish, (tiddlers) make this one for me,rather like wallpaper. Difficult shot to get exact, boat bobbing up and down etc.
The green seaweed nice blending colour.

hi Morag ,yes i see your problem ,its a great shot ,ive had a go at it,ive added contrast and a bit of brightness, i had to clone some of the mussels to repair the burnt out parts as once they are like that theres not much else you can do .given more time i think i could have done a better job .
let me know your thoughts good or bad.

Hi Morag.
This is an interesting and original picture. To my opinion, the centering of the main subject is good in this case as it brings balance to the composition and participates to the graphism quality. The presence of your unexpected little fishes is a great detail.
