Photographer's Note

This was taken last winter in Cairngorms National Park on a freezing day. It was so cold in fact, my camera battery kept dying prematurely and I had to keep it wrapped in a thermal glove and rubbing it between my near-frostbitten hands. Everything was hazy due to the frequent bursts of spindrift and there was a strange half-light that reflected off the snow, creating a mysterious atmosphere that I hope this photograph helps to convey. The mountains in the background are Bynack Mhor and Bynack Beag.

I altered the brightness/ contrast to reduce the light and emphasise the shadows a bit.
