Photographer's Note
The Black Cuillins is a mountain range on the Isle of Skye off the North West coast of Scotland and it contains the highest concentration of mountains over 3000' high in the United Kingdom.
The mountains themselves are the preserve of mountaineers and experienced hillwalkers but mere mortals can enjoy this classic view from the beach at Elgol which is reached by a 15 mile road that goes only to Elgol. Just to the right of this picture is a primary school with around 15 pupils who can enjoy this view each time they come out in the playground. I suspect that they are totally oblivious of how priveleged they are.

Wonderful, Les !
The Isle Of Skye, the misty island, I've been there long time ago, beautiful landscape and you've got a very nice low angle here with the stones on the beach. The background seems if it is a painting, funny.... nice shot !

Lovely shot Les of a gorgeous location. I only visited Elgol once, but went crazy for about 2 hours taking loads of photos!! what I particularly like about your shot is those lovely big round stones in the foreground. Great stuff.

Okay, now this photo is just about PERFECT! I love your POV here, it's got to be one of my favorites already. I've also checked out your photo web site, amazing is all I can say. Thank you for letting me know about Noiseware, I'm downloading it now to try.
Back to this photo, the large rocks in the foreground really set it off nicely. Looks like it would be a hard beach to walk on though, need the sturdy hiking boots.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this photo!

Great clarity even with blue hazy and a good solid foreground. For those who have the patience about the weather, such as yourself, Skye is filled with landscapes to be treasured through out a lifetime with pictures like these

Wow, very beautiful! I have heard that Scotland is very beautiful, but I didn't know that it have this kind of beautiful stony beaches. It's just wonderful!
I like the low point of view, the contrasts between the white stones and the darker parts of the photo, the mountains on the background and the dramatic sky.
Really great work! One of my favo's.

Wow... if in time I can produce images of this calibre I will be well pleased! I love the contrast of the pale pebbles on the black rocks and the shadows which are enhanced by the fairly low angle of the sun. Its great to see you avoiding the obvious ie: just going for a view of the Cuillins, instead of which you looked around for something to set them off, even using the small rock outcrop on the right as a frame....
BTW Did you use a graduated filter on the sky or is that Post process, or was it just like that ('cos Scotland can do that)?
