Photographer's Note
A fashionalble lady watching Welsh Piping Society concert on Queen Street - the main shopping street of Cardiff.
I must admit that these days I am a bit influenced by Martin Parr - I use flash very often and I have strange ideas...

This is a shot maybe intellectually challenging, but it doesn't satisfy my eye.. in a word it's not "beautiful" in terms of colors. The composition is good though.. I like the idea..
But I guess the thing i like the best in this shot is the.... cornemuse..

Very amusing inventive shot. As Claude says, the compo is very good, and challenging. I can't see a problem with the colours, though with the red haired girl on the left taking attention from the hat, maybe B&W would be worth thinking about.

hmmm a person would normally consider you a far beter proponent of flashwork if he/she were to see this..
there is not clear trace of the flash here, but in parr's photographs the flashwork is quite evident.
hmmmmmm
i'm very sleepy a the moment ad don't know what to make out of the photograph but i'm glad you're experimenting.
i love parr's self portraits
take care :)

Bonjour Maciej. I'm used to some very unusual works you make, filled with contents that can be discussed... But I can't find a single interesting element in here - [even if it will be discussed now, hey...]
Just a "funny" (but well framed) hat? I don't understand, but you must have had a reason... Or maybe I just do understand. Ha! You want to let us TALK? :o) - Anyway, I'm really glad you are doing what YOU want.

what attracts me the most in this shot is the yellow hair that come out of this hat or beret...and the compo. other than that i am not really attracted by this shot just like Claude. Though, I recognize the interesting angle of shoot!

Original POV and good DOF. Well chosen and I like a picture with those kind of details in front.

The pattern makes half of the shot, but the scottish checkers that we can hardly see in the background are enough to tickle with our imagination. Even though this is one more photograph that isn't worth millions (of te points of course), I'm still thinking that you're taking the right option: test yourself. If you're really made for photography, you will find your subjects wherever you are and more..you'll love them. Asia is just a continent. There are four others waiting for your insight view. Great. I'm enjoying, and starting to rediscover you with pleasure.

parr is good :)
I like this hat, interesting idea, and i think i would crop it so it is square, and cut the person on the right. then the hat would be everything. the texture of the fur and the hair of the women who wears the hat are very catchy, and a crop would emphasis this.
do you see how parr really gets CLOSE to some subjects, whether its food or people, kitch objects etc. he fills the frame, but still has a composition in mind. bored couples is funny too...
keep looking and getting ideas.

Nice one Maciek! Impressive how the fill flash can hardly be noticed on your shots. I like the very "clean" compo, with that fashionable hat filling the half of the frame. Not so easy to experiment indeed, no doubt you'll also influence others very soon.

Well Maciej, this is a good composition and a nice idea. Her hat is quite nice, her hair even nicer and the fur collar on her jacket as a second layer of hair works good. Still there is something missing to really catch my intrest. Though a nice idea, keep experimenting.
