Photographer's Note

I thought I would post this picture as a complement to Bev's own photograph from today. Both pictures were taken during a lovely TE meeting in Edinburgh last week.

In Britain, the word "Brass" can have many other meanings than just the description of an alloy of copper and zinc. So, if you are a member of the "Top Brass" (meaning an important member of society), you have an enormous amount of "Brass" (money) and you are endowed with a "Brass Neck" (an inflated sense of importance, nerve and effrontery), you can abandon your Rolls Royce worth over a quarter of a million pounds in a pedestrian precinct without, apparently, causing offence.

This magnificent, though rather ostentatious, vehicle was parked here in Edinburgh's Royal Mile and a passing traffic warden informed us that its owner was more than happy to risk incurring any fees for illegal parking.

We took the 'bus and walked.

ISO 320, 1/500 sec at f/7.1, focal length 24mm.
