Another photograph from Edinburgh's Royal Mile earlier this month when dancers, magicians, comedians and jugglers entertained the public during the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe which more or less takes over the whole city during the month of August.
Here a skilled entertainer juggles a crystal ball which photographers will also appreciate allows us to see an (inverted) image of his surroundings too!
Two more images of him in the workshop, here and here.
ISO 400, 1/3200 sec at f/4.5, focal length 105mm.

Hello John,
These photos will please lovers of reflections, of which there are quite many on the site, and also lovers of photos showing street life and people at work, of which there also quite a few. The three photos are all amusing and the juggler is impressive, and even more they are all perfectly well taken, very sharp and clear and well timed. You found good angles for them all and managed to include the faces and eyes of the bystanders, who are very much part of the story told by the photos.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello John,
This is an amazing impression from Edinburgh Festival. It looks like a wonderful trick by this red-nosed magician and the glass sphere balancing on his arm add a fantastic upside-down reflection as well. Excellent sharpness and clarity as well.

Hello John
I like the inverted image here in the ball. More than that I like the intense look on the observers watching him at his trade.

Hello John, three excellent shots of the street performer with his crystal ball. You have managed to capture the reflections in the ball with great expertise.
The man's red nose is another interesting feature, somehow balancing the composition as we look between the crystal and the red nose.
The slight blur of the spectators still allows us to look at their reactions, with the sharp focus very much on the man.
The Edinburgh festival is the perfect subject for a photographer.
Thanks for sharing, regards Jean.

Ciao John
l'artista è sicuramente bravo, ma per chi ha l'occhio fotografico, è la sfera ad attirare l'attenzione, o meglio, ciò che si vede in quella sfera.
Belle foto, ottimo tempismo e ottima qualità.

Hello John,
This is a unique and very well-executed photo. The sharpness, focus and lighting are perfect. I like the mirror image in the juggler's ball; we even have another view of him and his red nose. Very nice! :-)

Hello John, Remind me nest year in advance about this festival in Edinbourgh. I would like to see it. Fantastic three pictures with this guy juggling the crystal ball. Amazing that there are fine reflections in all positions, and so sharp. Of course, the red nose is eyecatching. Can you see yourself reflected in the ball?
have a nice weekend

Hi John
My goodness John, we need you back on TE full time! We need more photos like this. my favourite of the group is the one with the ball in mid air...what a shot! Honestly, I think these are some of your best work. so crystal clear, so bright, so sharp, and to get the reflection on the ball is just the icing on the cake, i'm very impressed! cheers

Hello John,
This is a very impressive photograph!
The comic and his sphere, with its refracted image, are wonderfully colourful and sharp. set against a very useful slightly blurred b/g. (I'm glad you told me about reflection and refraction, which I had to consult o the Internet, as I didn't really know the difference. I ceased studying physics at age 14 - we just didn't get on together! Physics didn't understand me and I didn't understand physics!)
I love the w/s, too. Though set at a different angle, each could have been main photographs!
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Perfectly timed and wonderfully focused on the juggler and his toy. I love the colourful reflections of the red nose and the sky we can only see in the glass ball. Great trick to include the spectators but keep them out of focus to make them part of the background, the context and part of the story of the image.
Have a lovely weekend
Kasia
