Megxit - Much Ado About Nothing
William Shakespeare wrote the play “Much Ado About Nothing” in 1599 and perhaps we can also use this about the fuss that arose after the Instagram message from Prince Harry and his wife Meghan that they wanted to take a step back from their royal duties and want more privacy.
Of course, the social media exploded when this message became viral and the British tabloids eagerly took this opportunity to publish new facts and especially non-fact about the royal family.
Queen Elisabeth and the rest of the royal family were also "not amused" about the young couple's decision that had not been discussed with them and summoned them for crisis consultations in the course of today.
My post today gives a brief review of this event.
Photo 1 shows Windsor Castle and the people that gathered at the castle to witness the royal drama.
Windsor castle is still regularly used by the royal family and is possibly one of the places for family deliberation.
Photo 2 shows that Harry and Meghan have already arrived in Windsor and have arrived into The Prince Harry pub.
Photo 3 shows the security that the paparazzi and the public have to keep at a safe distance.

Hello Rob,
That Shakespeare play seems to summarize the present royal conflict quite well. No Lady Macbeth or Hamlet style family massacre.
Interesting photos with the rather impressive castle dominating the view of the main photo, and even more so the enormous crowd waiting to get in. I would probably have given up any hope of seeing the interiors and decided instead to relax with a beer in Harry's pub.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Rob,
This is an exceptionally good panorama of the castle, clearly revealing its popularity with tourists. You used the f/g sign well, for depth.
I like the little close touches, you show in your w/s.
The pub was obviously taking every advantage of the link to Prince Harry who seems enormously popular in the area. You did well to notice the connection, along with all the other beckoning images.
I was surprised to see the police armed! Unless there is a direct threat, you don't usually see our police carrying guns!
Have a lovely day,
Bev :-)

Hi Rob,
The presence of the crowd is animating the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the Windsor castle. The light is giving good colours rendering. Have a nice day.

Dag Rob,
John

Hello Rob, it is interesting to read reactions to UK news.
We will just have to be patient and see what happens next.
This is a very sharp shot. After seeing the crowds of people, it rather puts me off visiting, having never been to Windsor.
Three excellent shots, always in sharp focus. Interesting to see your selection.
A photograph of Meghan and Harry might be all we see in the future?
Kind regards, Jean.

Bonjour Rob
En autant que je suis concerné, cela ne prend pas grand chose pour animer le poil des jambes des anglais. Du moment que cela ne me coûte rien, ils peuvent bien faire ce qu'ils veulent.
Amicalement

Hallo Rob, this is a journalistic series of photos. The crowd gathers around Windsor castle to see the Royal family members. The building is like a fortress, it is an imposant and old castle. The personalities are highly protected by vigilant guards as we can see in the workshop. Fine colors, good sharpness, instructive photo note, regards.

Bonjour, cher Rob,
Les livres de contes parlant des princesses et des princes ont toujours passionné les enfants depuis la nuit des temps. Comme quoi, les siècles passent et les souvenirs perdurent.
Les prises de vue sont impressionnantes.
Amitiés.

Hello Rob, You saw Harry and Meghan! Wow, wow, you were lucky! :). Indeed, there is a lot of fuss about this. We know not much about other royal families, Ibut about English one we must be informed of every movement, every detail of the dress and so on. So it is easy to understand that they want some privacy. Interesting pictures. The security guards make an impression with all the gear.
Kind regards Malgo

Rightly chosen the title, especially the combination of both events occuring in same time in the UK, Rob.
A famous place I visited twice, and was overwhelmed.
Picture enliven by the crowd waiting in linand across the street.

Hallo Rob,

Hi Rob
Throng of people are there for the right reasons but they are vital to emphasize depth, perspective and balance to this famous castle. A fine capture with immaculate detail, colour, general contrast and accompanying story. Well done

Hi Rob,
I like your series of photos from UK, and the provoking titles you gave them.
This photo reminded me my photo from Windsor taken from a similar POV HERE.
Megxit certainly caused a stirr in the UK and as they say it is now a more important problem than Brexit, from the media perspective ha ha. I heard a lot of funny comments already.
I suppose what the couple announced is that they decided to give up on their responsibilities and focus on enjoying the life. I would love to do that as well. It is complex issue, is their money just theirs?
And obviously the lady appears now as someone who just wanted to become famous. I didn't know what sort of responsibilities they may have except for the Queen who needs to represent the country. Does the whole family needs to represent the country...?
I see the lines are still queuing there...
Great reportage,
M

Hi Rob,
Those walls look great! Wonderful old castle, and certainly a place I would like to visit some day. I like your fun note. What royals do or don't is not really on my interests either.

Ah ! The millenary Windsor castle ! The queen’s weekend home, and recently the site of several royal weddings and christenings, like Archie Mountbatten Windsor in July 2019 !
Well off to America the Sussexes went, but will the tabloids let go of this juicy piece of meat ? I doubt it …
Anyway, I like your side POV of the imposing medieval castle lined by the waiting queues.
Kind regards.
Marie-Louise.

Hi Rob
love this view of the Castle, it looks as if the castle just keeps on going and going, never ending. How big is this thing?
I'll have to visit it one day as well, but i will be first in line no matter how early I have to get there. As for the Royals..sigh...i have little time for them, how can they relate to us peasants, even though they say they try to, not a chance. Anyways, excellent shot from here. cheers

Hello Rob,
I like your humorous note and lovely view of the castle. It must be crowded all the time. I also like the greenery in the distance, but I find the Bluegrass sign on the right a bit distracting. Fun WS photos, too. :-)
