Photographer's Note
Hello Everyone,
Last time, I showed you a view of Norwich Castle and reported how sad I was, that the Castle was closed for refurbishment.
On the plus side, we were allowed to cross the bridge and walk around the motte of the castle (the top of the slope, but not on the walls).
This did allow us quite an elevated position to look down on the city and see some prominent buildings.
Better to see in the large format.
To the far left, you can see the tower of St. Peter Mancroft church. That is the one facing the new library. After the two cathedrals, it is the largest church in Norwich and was built between 1430 and 1455.
To the right is a long, red brick building with a tall tower which is the City Hall. Norwich City Hall is an Art Deco building completed in 1938.
I will add some different views as workshops.
I wish you a happy and safe weekend, Bev :-)

Hello Bev,
You show us a great variety of buildings of various age and very different functions and styles. You found a most suitable gap between the trees for the best view. The second WS gives us a further impression of the vicinities, especially the styles of chimneys. All photos are as usual well taken.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Bev,
The trees are helping to frame the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the buildings, of the churcha nd of the Library. The light is bringing out the colours. Have a nice day.

Hello Beverley,
This viewpoint offered a great view of the city. I really like the two towers, the classic church tower to the left and the modern tower of the city hall to the right, whose architecture looks very attractive. Fine, gentle sunlight also.

Hi Bev,
great point of view indeed. I like the two layers of the composition with the stylish houses below and a nice looking cathedral in the distance.
This looks really encouraging to visit, but i would rather wait for summer weather again before traveling that far.
Great reportage,
M

Hello Beverley, it is always good to be able to get an elevated view of a place, and here you have certainly managed that.
Quite a mixture of styles of buildings.
A nicely balanced composition, and sharp.
The large version makes such a difference to our appreciation of the scene.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Bev
Bad luck about the closed castle but this view across the town is a good one and even better in the large view.

Hi Bev
you know what I think of right away when I see this??
A toy model set up, that's what it looks like.
it may not be the views you were looking for, but in the end you still came away with a fine shot here. pin sharp and lovely light was in your favour as well. cheers

Good morning Beverley and thanks for your latest critique.
High POV above the town houses towards the cathedral, which found on Google-Maps at 52.6313, 1.3, as my curiousity took me to explore this surrounding.
Reckon the castle built up on a mound, enable a great view all over town. And, found the precise spot from where taken this picture at 52.6289, 1.2959 on the map.
Have a nice sunday,
Ike

Hi Bev. So castle closed but still a great point of view to take 2 different views of the city from above. Useful note about what i'm watching in your rich compostion very sharp and bright. The other view in fact is completely different. Lucky meeting with the wedding group during the private photographic session..hehe..have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Beverley
A good panorama. There's a good lead in to the prominent in the backdrop along the unobtrusive foreground buildings between the trees, and nice soft light & colours. The Church and the City Hall dominate the photo as no doubt they do the city. Excellent skyline capture, Congrats

Beverley, that elevated viewpoint offers a global panorama of the city. The higher buildings like the castle dominate the scene. There is a mix of different architectural styles belonging to different periods. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.
