Photographer's Note

Today Foggintor Quarry.
My pictures today are a follow on from my previous post 'Bleak'.

In 'Bleak' I showed the ruins of the village that had been built to accommodate the workforce who worked in and around the quarry.

This is the actual quarry.
The cloud was very low!! It gives you an impression of the conditions, up on the moor, that the men would sometimes have had to work in at times.

See notes for 'Bleak' which tells of some of the important places where Foggintor granite was utilised.

By the time we retraced our footsteps, the weather did actually improve, thank goodness.

Taken with my iPhone.

Thanks for looking.
