Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
Yesterday, was Remembrance Day, when people pay tribute to the brave men who gave their lives for the security of their country.
In our village, not only were poppy wreaths laid by adults and children, but the photographs of all the young men who are mentioned on the War Memorial, were placed on big, wooden poppies, behind displays of red flowers.
It certainly had a big visual impact as well as an emotional one.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my photograph, Bev :-)

Hi Bev,
Remembrance Day is also important in Canada, there were ceremonies held in different canadian cities. The point of view is showing the details of the mounument. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Beverley,
A nice settings for the Remembrance Day in your village, as most probably done everywhere in England.
Each of the red plaque with photos was in perfecty contrast to the old stones wall and the monument.
Good afternoon,

Hello Bev,
A day for remembrance and a day for photography. The red decorations on the grey and black monument brightened the view and the day. You adapted the shape of the photo perfectly to the shape of the monument.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Bev,unfortunately, even the smallest villages have a memorial to the war dead and yours is no exception. Hoping not to have to build more in the future. Very often we complain but perhaps we do not understand that we are living in one of the luckiest moments in history. Perfect capture for this celebration which falls on November 4th in Italy. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Beverley,
A very good photo of this war memorial and of course lots of poppies to pay tribute to the soldiers. You chose a good angle. The silhouette of the solider is seen nicely against the monument from here.

Hello Beverley,
So your Remembrance Day is three days later than Armistice Day in Belgium.
The photo is very successful but of course remains a reminder of a long sad period in European history.
Good view with the hill in the background, the diagonal line of the wall and a glimpse of a meadow between the trees.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Bev
Our remembrance day gatherings suffered from lots of rain and wind. It looks like you had better weather for getting a good dry photo.

I remember many of this war memorials in UK, here you got a creative touch using the photos of the lads and adding a special link with them, not more numbers or names, but real people. excellent image. I am lucky my country never faced a war since I was born.
take care

Hello Beverly,
Nov. 11 was known as the Armistice Day in the US, but then it was changed to Veterans Day in the 50s. Nice photo for the occasion.

MT
