Photographer's Note
My second posting of an Owl Butterfly, taken at the Stratford-Upon-Avon Butterfly Farm. This is on a special feeding table, with the camera on the table, in the Optio's supermacro mode and with no flash. The colours painted on the table are designed to attract the butterflies.
Owl Butterflies eat rotting fruit and are regarded as pests in the banana plantations of Central and South America. They usually fly at dawn or dusk and, being the largest of all butterflies, they are apparently easily mistaken for bats.

The reflection makes this shot unique. With human, mirror reflection s kinda common but with animals? This is a very good and sharp shot and a good insect-portrait.

Great macro shot.
It's really difficult to get such details and you did it well.
I didn't know there was some feeding table to attract butterfly but it helps :-)

Love the colors and the good close up shot of the butterfly. the surface of this feeding table makes the reflection quite good.
This beeing as big as a bat is actually quite impressive. Good info on the photo. 10x for sharing!!!

Stunning don't know what to say. IF there was one thing I could change it would be the bit of yellow in the lower right. Definately one of the best photos Ive seen so far on this site.
