Photographer's Note

I've seen a few posts of the lights on Saltburn pier and have been meaning to go and take a few myself for a while. I got the chance last weekend and went to Saltburn with my Canon 20D (replacement for my 300D).

My initial plan was to get some shots from the cliffs nearby but the pier lights didn't have as much impact from a distance as I'd hoped. So I moved down close to the pier while I was still in the 'blue hour'. The conditions were favourable with a bit of light still in the sky and although it might not look like it (due to the long shutter speed), a rough sea crashing against the pier supports.
