Photographer's Note

this is a 40% sized replica of the H.M.BARK ENDEAVOUR the ship in which CAPT.JAMES COOK discovered australia.
the replica was built at PARKOL MARINE in whitby using local craftsmen, the timbers used were oak frames, larch planking, and douglas fir decking. she was built as a pleasure craft taking tourists on 1/2 hour sea trips
when the full sized replica of the same boat which was built in australia came to whitby (her spiritual home) to see the two boats sailing into the harbour under full sail was amazing a view that well stay with us for a long long time
the boat pictured here is waiting for the bridge to open to allow it to proceed to the upper harbour for shelter as northly winds are forcast for the next day or two.
