Photographer's Note
Just one more wild daffodil photo from Farndale in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. More details about the Daffodil Walk can be found here
These daffodils were growing at the top of the river bank, so I clambered down to get a low POV so that they were against the sky. There is interference from the branches of an over-hanging tree, but there wasn’t much ground to stand on without getting wet in the river, and this is the best I could do.

Hi Kath.
For me this is the best of your last post.
But let me say that I would make two changes in the composition. First, I would left this yellow flower a bite more at the left (for me is too much centered). And, second, I would try another POV wich would left out the branch of the background. If not, I would try not have the branch just behind the flower.
Anyway, I like it. Very nice colours too.
Regards.

Hi Kath - a remarkable achievement in this shot. Spectacular DOF, the foreground is amazing in its sharpness, very vivid, with the flower that dominates the frame popping out from the monitor. Regarding the overhanging tree, better there than on the side. Congratulations and TFS, Daniel

Hi Kath,
What I love more on this one, is the POV. You manage very well to get a good composition against the sky. It's so funny to imagine what you had to do to get this shot.
The quality of the image is really amazing and the lighting is perfect, as well as the combination of colours. I even like the branches in the background that you talk about and to me it looks like a tree up side down. This small interference that makes this a 'not perfect' image is actually an interesting add. An excellent photo!

Hi Kath - the low POV is great, you've been able to get a realy clear shot with good colours. I like the shallow DOF too, emphasis fully on the daffodil.
Enjoy your trip, good luck to Boro on wednesday :)

Bonsoir kath,
Belles ces jonquilles, vive le printemps !
la branche d’arbre à l’arrière plan ne me dérange pas personnellement.
Une question tu t’es coucher à même le sol pour réalisé la photo

Hi Kath, You have well chosen to use shallow DoF to this close up flower shot. Good contrast and nice details.

Nice definition, colour and sharpness. Love the blue sky too. I also like the area of sunlight caught around the main daff. Very nice. Have a great time in Paris and take a tipod and some night shots too, if you have time !!!

Hi Kath
Wow, the sharpness of these daffodils makes them almost look unreal! Your clambering around paid off as this is a great POV, showing us the nice blue sky as a background. Shame about the overhanging branch which seems to have been unavoidable, though it might have been worth shooting at a wider aperture just to throw it a bit more out of focus. Lovely spring shot.

Hi Kath,
Superb imagery here with the closer view of these delightful flowers. I like the low angle perspective and the great contrast of the sky, with a slightly blurred image of the tree branch. The lighting is also very good. A nice capture, Kath. Please hold the weather for me...

Good close up and dof. A little more light would have produced greater colors... It's interesting you have composed that from downstairs to upstairs. The blue sky s not so usual for that kind of compo.

Hi Kath,
Excellent framing and very nice depht. The colors are just fantastic. I like the idea of having an out of focus branch on the bakcgrond, but I think it is distracting a bit, being exactly behind the main flower.
Take care
