Photographer's Note
Carsington water is a man made lake run by Severn Trent Water.Most of the water is pumped from the river Derwent into the lake although a little comes from local streams. The dam was given the go ahead in 1979 but part collapsed in 1984. It was levelled to its foundations and a new design begun in 1989.It is a beautiful place to visit and most of the ammenities are free.
