Photographer's Note

I took this picture in a taxi cab traveling from the Turkish side of Cyprus to the border in order to cross into the South. The picture is blurry and the colors could be better, and I believe I've posted a similar car/field/blur picture before, but I thought this is an extremely interesting photo. The two flags plastered on the side of the mountain stand out and are extremely visible from the plane and the border.

Before visiting Cyprus, I (embarrassingly) was unaware of its extremely turbulent history. I learned a lot during my stay there, and learned a lot of lessons about trip planning (I only learned about the red tape/entrance issues while on the plane into the north and I was scheduled to fly out of the south). We visited during Easter weekend and also around the time of elections in the North. It's all very interesting and am glad to have had the opportunity to learn so much about the country.
