Photographer's Note
Naghsh-e Jahan Square is a situated at the center of Isfahan. Constructed between 1598 and 1629, it is now an important historical site, and one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. It is 160 metres wide by 560 metres long - the second largest square after Tian An Men. The square is surrounded by buildings from the Safavid era. The Shah Mosque is situated on the south side of this square. On the west side is the Ali Qapu Palace. Sheikh Lotf Allah Mosque is situated on the eastern side of this square and at the northern side Qeysarie Gate opens into the Isfahan Grand Bazaar.
Here the view fro the balcony of Ali Qapu Palace. With the rather modest dome, the wonderful blue Lotf Allah mosque.

Hello Malgo,
This was the most fantastic place I saw in Iran, so I took several photos, maybe as many as 10! The first Iranian photo I posted here showed the entrance to that mosque, but this wide view makes such a different impression that I had to check my own photo to realize it's the same. It's an amazing view, and you had a very good light. Just too bad you won't have time to show many more photos from here.
Kind regards, and thank you for your latest critiques,
Gert

Jak fajnie zobaczyc znowu to miejsce, nawet tylko na zdjeciu. Uwielbialam tam chodzic, ogladac po sto razy te same budynki, sluchac stukotu konskich kopyt...
Piekne kolory i super swiatlo.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie

Hello Malgo,
A fantastic overview of this World Heritage site. The beautiful dome is well placed in the centre with the attractive repetition of the arches on both sides in front of it. It was a bright and clear day with lovely light. Very well captured.

Dear Malgo,
What a beautiful postcard! I like the symmetry and that it is somehow broken with the hill in the bg.
Best Wishes,

Ciao Malgo,
C'est très impressionnant comme endroit. Ce plan d'eau est de toute beauté et très grand. Par contre, il n'y a pas grand monde pour en profiter. Très beau cadrage.

How did you have the courage to visit this country, and refrain coming to Israel, malgo...
I know that there are attractive sites in Iran, just like this place, and Iranian-Jews living in my town told me about those places already some 50 years ago.

Hello Malgo, the scale of the square is very obvious from this point of view. The people emphasise the scale. I like the symmetry with the dome in the centre.
You had beautiful weather, and so your scene is bathed in sunshine.
Thanks for sharing, regards Jean.

Ciao Malgo,as I thought, Iranian architecture is very reminiscent of Uzbek architecture, and here I see a striking example. I seem to see the hotel where I stayed in Khiva, and even the dome is practically the same as those seen during that trip. Anyway congratulations for the 2 photos, excellent choice of POV and top quality. And congratulations on your new trip to Dubai and Oman, I envy you very much and I appreciate you, you are one of the few pensioners who understood the meaning of life !! Have a nice weekend and trip too! Luciano

Hello Malgo,
I was there in 1996. All around I found wonderful architecture but the square itself was empty. No gardens, no pools or fountains.
But I do have a picture of this dome without scaffoldings :)
We all have some luck and some setbacks.
I love the photo in the WS.
Also scaffoldings on the dome but what a beautifully landscaped garden on the square.
Naghsh-e Jahan Square is one of those great places on earth. You will have enjoyed it.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Malgo,
Oh, my! What a wonderful square!
From this viewpoint, you must have gasped in amazement!
From the number of benches, it is obviously intended as a gathering point, somewhere to sit and enjoy the calmness and the view.
The repeating arches are attractive in their own right and span the reflective pool.
The gap makes the perfect entrance from the square, to the mosque, which is unbelievably beautiful. The scaffolding is hardly noticeable!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Malgo
Have you noticed anything of the increasing turmoil in Iran or is the western tourist being carefully guided just to these fascinating but almost deserted squares?
The long line of modern sunshades in particular have a strange effect on this beautiful photo.
Excellent presentation
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hello Malgo,
It's surprising to see a swimming pool in this desert region. Must be a desalination plant nearby or lots of groundwater. Good sharpness and the yellow ochre color of the building's facade contrasts well with the blue sky and water. Tfs!

Hi Malgo,
The square is impressive. The point of view is showing the details of the building and of the Lotf Allah Mosque. The light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hi Malgo
This impressive square, one of the largest in the world, has many monuments but it is only possible to capture them in parts, this side has the small and wonderful mosque and the sequence of exact buildings.
Wonderful those shades of color, excellent sharpness and splendid light.
Very well done. I like very much.
You have a good day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Malgo,
Two fine photos from Isfahan. 👍🏻👍🏻 I find the name Ali Qapu (or Ali Kapı) interesting. it means Imperial Gate but it is half-Persian (ali), half-Turkish (kapı). Interestingly enough, we have a Bab-ı Ali in Istanbul. It means the same thing, but it is completely Persian!
