Photographer's Note
My Intro to Israel, Day 2, Scene 8
Having got back home late last night, the photos of lush green forests I took on this trip will have to wait and I will continue from where I left off in Israel.
According to Josephus Flavius, Herod the Great built the fortress of Masada between 37 and 31 BCE. It included a casemate wall around the plateau, storehouses, large cisterns ingeniously filled with rainwater, barracks, palaces and an armory. Due to the remoteness from human habitation and its arid environment, the site remained largely untouched by humans or nature for two millennia. The site of Masada was identified in 1838 by Americans Edward Robinson and Eli Smith, and in 1842, American missionary Samuel W Wolcott and the English painter W. Tipping were the first moderns to climb it. It was extensively excavated between 1963 and 1965 by an expedition led by Israeli archaeologist Yigael Yadin.
Here we see the 20th century addition to the site, the metal & wooden ramp leading from the cable car to one of the entrances to the fortress.

Hello Murat,
This is an interesting combination of exotic desert environment and the arrangements necessary for the modern tourism business. Ther long bridge and line of people create fine diagonals and good depth. Surely an interesting place.
Kind regards,
Gert

The line of people/tourists on the modern bridge, added vivid tone and nice contrast to the brown texture of rocks, Murat.
The older trail, nicely shown here, curving up(or down, pending where heading), is more common among youngsters, challanging the sheer cliff. Fine shot on the ancient fort entrance.
Best regards,
ike

Hola Murat
I was there years ago, the way up was by a kind of cable car, there was also a photographer to take photos at the tourist, this structure is quite new, useful but not nice , my idea
Good capture where we can appreciate the texture of the rock, well done

Hi Murat,
Anything but lush green forests alright...looks like something I see every day!? Good thing this walkway was constructed, can you imagine people trying to cross this terrain without it...lawsuits o' plenty, yeah? I like this framing, as it easily leads us from one side to the other, and the people help put the scale into proper perspective. This has kind of an Indiana Jones excavation appeal about it. :) Enjoy the rest of the evening. Take it easy.
Friendly wishes,
Jason

Hi Murat
A wonderful illustration of the complex meeting your objective by taking advantage of the best lighting around this time. A fine compo full of detail including the " scaffolding " it's a good crisp shot with depth and perspective and the lovely bit of contrasty blue to clinch to the shot. Well done, TFS
Best regards
