A short break from the graffiti theme:

While visiting my dog-food local store, encountered a special and surprising visitor, or maybe a sales-helper… It belongs to the lady that was on the counter.
A vividly colored bird, with a short curved hooked beak, grasping feet, and most notable a raucous voice, was not shy and let me take his portrait with my cell-phone.
I could not specify its precise specie nor its scientific name, any member contribution for that matter would be appreciated.

Hello Ike,
Excellent capture of this supernumerary shop assistant. The well stocked shelves in the background set him in context. Perfectly sharp and well exposed with superb colours.

A really nice and humorous shot of this shop parrot, maybe it has learnt a few phrases so it can help customers as well. The colours are appealing, not only of the parrot's feathers, but also of the products in the background.

Hello Ike, quite a surprise to see the green parrot in this situation!
A very colourful scene.
It must be a torment for the bird being surrounded by all that food.

Hello Ike,
That is a very nice and unusual shopkeeper. It makes me recall a pharmacy in Cairo where a cat was lying on the desk among the jars of pills. But a cat is not as bright as this bird. The photo also gains from the inclusion of the colourful packages in the background which describe the location. I also like the wooden log it is sitting on. Your cell-phone exposed this perfectly and managed a very good DOF.

What a strange shopkeeper!
I hope it knew all the right prices and didn't overcharge you!
The parrot is really sharp, showing its green plumage and bright eyes, clearly against the oof shop produce.
It's a fine example of good use of shallow dof.

Hi Ike,very curious meeting in this shop,excellent idea to help the customers..ehehe.. This is a Green-cheeked Parakeet or Green-cheeked Conure (Pyrrhura molinae), a parrot of the genus Pyrrhura, which is part of a long-tailed group of the New World parrot subfamily Arinae. This type of parrot is generally called a conure in aviculture. It is native to the forests of South America. The quality of the pic is excellent and the colors are very bright despite the light. Hello, Ike!

It looks like a red-tailed parrot (Amazona brasiliensis), but I find the feathers of its face too dark in this photo, so I'm not sure. It may also be a species not found here. But it's an interesting helper of this store, a lot of people must go there only to try to talk to it! And you captured that with very nice colors! Beautiful job!

Hi Ike,
I have watched a movie with my daughter recently where an owner of a bookstore had a bird helper.. It was blue not green but I suppose it is quite a similar story...
I have never seen a bird helper in England so far but I suppose I usually go to shops like TESCO, where there is no chance for an encounter like this :)

Hello Ike This is a very nice picture of the green tu-ki that is privileged of a bi-lateral view, so it could keep an eye on what you meant to do with the smartphone, while watching the attractive colors variety with the other eye! The Tuki looks a little suspicious over his shoulder at the photographer.
The bird can be pleasant company if the seller often has to work alone.
Such a small animal always brings a little life into the room.
This one has lots of beautiful green feathers.
Could this parrot speak a few words?
