Sailing through the masts and ropes, a photo from Sharon, Centre

Photographer's Note

Its high winter nowadays in Israel, unusual cold and record rainfall since the last 50+ years with floods - apparently a result of the global-warming phenomenon.

So, it is nice to take a look at a brighter day in the Herzliya marina just about a month ago.

A catamaran sailing through the many anchored boats, and this capture came out with yet another semi-chaotic image.

Location at the marina is 32.1623, 34.794 on the map.

Hello Ike, there is no doubt that marinas present a multitude of lines going in all directions.
Here, I like the composition where you still manage to show some of the water with some reflections.
Everything is in sharp focus.

The sunlight was very pleasant and clear here. You also got a very sharp photo of the many masts and ropes and the yacht in the middle is nicely framed by the foreground. Well captured and composed.

Hello Ike,
It was probaby easier than it seems like to sail through this jungle. The camera squeezes together the perspective, so this view is more fun for us than for a sailor. In a "clearing in the jungle" I find some of your now famous reflections. I guess the photo opportunities never end in a place like this.

Ike, the muddle of the masts and the boats moored in the port create a pleasant visual effect. The picture shows the atmosphere during that sunny day. What a beautiful catamaran! Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hello Ike,

Rain has been a problem in our country, too, with many severe floods, though the average temperature has been one of the warmest on record! There is no doubting that we have to make alterations to our ways of life, to protect the planet from further damage.
Your photograph shows a plethora of near vertical lines crossing and criss-crossing the sky in an exciting way, the masts looking as if they are waving or celebrating.
I find the blue rope a most interesting feature in the f/g. It is almost as if symbolically preventing entry or alternatively, preventing those in the marina from leaving.
Your photograph is beautifully exposed.

In Belgium we have still almost 1 m water to short.
An old weather man say always, the nature heal himself, as long as the human remains there.
You create depth and perspective.

Marinas are usually Eldorado’s for photographers. The reflection in the water, the forest of masts and ropes that run in every direction. A variety of graphic representations.

Hello Ike,

The fg masts make nice frames either side of the bg boats. Good sharpness and nice reflections in the water. A good exposure on the bright highlights. Tfs!

PS Living in the north of England I was so looking forward to global warming but it is as cold as before and there was no summer last year again... quite typical.
