Photographer's Note
A butterfly from the Lebanese family, scientific name: "Belenois aurota, Luciano corrected its name for me.
Still, we call it Cabbage-building butterfly in Israel, seen most of the year (except on particularly hot and cold days) and is one of the most common butterflies flying in ornamental gardens in Israel.
Medium-size butterfly with wingspan of about 55 mm. Its color is white and the tip of the front wing is black. The female is larger than the male.

Hello Ike,
You found this butterfly in a nice environment of neutral colours. The light was difficult and the right wing is slightly overexposed, but we still see what a beautiful insect it is, with a modest but elegant pattern. I am especially fascinated by its light blue body, which you captured with perfect sharpness.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ike,
The branches are helping to frame the insect. The point of view is showing the details of the Pieris brassicae butterfly. The light is bringing out the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ike,
In Flemish Belgium we have almost the same butterfly.
But not real the same, I know not much names of butterflies.
Notwithstanding, I've much year brought a visit to the butterfly garden in Knokke, but two year ago disappear.
Very well picture, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John

Hello Ike,
This small white butterfly looks really nice and stands out well from the blurry background. The patterns on the edges of its wings look good too.

Hi Ike.
A beautiful composition with this almost white butterfly, only a curious dark ornament surrounds its wings, its light color makes it stand out very well against the dark background.
Very effective coloring, which highlights the details of the image.
Very well done. I like it.
Enjoy this weekend, before Christmas.
My best wishes for you.

Hello Ike, a very good close up of the Cabbage white butterfly.
As with you, this is one of our most common butterflies in the U.K.
You managed the light well, with no over-exposure.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Ike,Unfortunately I see that no one has been able to help you on the name of this butterfly. Obviously it is not a Pieris Brassicae, also common to me and that I know well, but a "Belenois aurota" that I have also seen in Gambia. The quality of the photo is not the best but it is always a pleasure to see a butterfly in the gallery of TE, a Christmas gift for fans like me and Silvio! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Ike,
I know, it is difficult to capture a butterfly on camera, but the right wing is washed out. Maybe spot metering would have helped if you had had enough time to meddle with the settings.

Hello Ike,
Personally, I find it terribly difficult to photograph butterflies. I lack the patience for it.
I like your composition here with the butterfly not centrally placed. Its mostly white wings make it very visible against the blurry dark background.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Ike,
It resembles the very popular butterfly which I klnow from Poland but I wouldn't be able to tell whether it is really the same.
Nice capture with well blurred background and perfectly sharp centre of the insect.
Excellent work,

Hello Ike,
Yes, we call this the cabbage white, too, and it is one of the most common butterflies I see.
The lighting was extremely difficult for you but because of that, the delicately-patterned, wing edges become much more noticeable. The furry thorax is very evident, too.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
