Wet ride, a photo from Akko, Northern

Photographer's Note

Akko (Acre) is a very old city in the north of Israel. There is a fortress just above the coast line, and from the windows of the fortress walls, there is a wonderful view of the beach. Those guys came with ther horses to a wet ride.

Very good compo, and interesting TE shot and note. These guys look like they belong in north America, but then, maybe that's where they came from.

Looks like fun! I've just been to Akko a few days ago, and I'm sad to inform you that you must have caught the last wet ride for the season... It's full of jelly fish nowadays...

Vous avez de la chance de bénéficier d'un temps clément, ce qui n'est pas le cas en Europe.

Nice capture, but I think that you should compose different, you should give more space at the bottom and to the right, because the riders movement is to the right and their reflection is ar the bottom.

Photo plutôt rare, ce n'est pas souvent que l'on sort à cheval dans la mer, dommage, il paraît que les chevaux adorent cela.

Côté technique, le sujet est un peu cadré bas. J'aurai essayé de le placer plus sur la gauche pour laisser un espace vide devant... bien sûr cela aurait enlevé un peu de la trace dans l'eau. Peut-être moins de zoom...

Nice, wet fun, and you did great to catch it. I think you know you need more space to the right and a bit less to the left, but this is just par for such a quick shot, because sometimes the oppertunity is nearly gone before we see it.

So, I figure those would be seahorses ;-)) Very nice scene, Yitzhak, with great colors and light. Picking up on Richard's comment - subtract the water, and give the guys a Stetson hat instead of the white caps, and you're in Wyoming or Montana :-) Regarding composition, I support Elroyie's suggestions. Well captured.

Nice photo to watch this one Yitzhak - its remind of a photo I never got, I have forgotten my camera and besides I don't shot girls in bikini ;-)

A great life this must be - thanks for sharing. I noticed the note of Callie - and I know the problem - the water behind the horses more interesting be course of the waves (I agree with your cropping)

Trés jolie prise des plus originale en plus j'aime plus particulierement l'ambiance equestre.Pour le cadrage personnellement j'aurais laissé plus d'espace devant les cheveaux mais cela reste une question de gout personnel.

You remind me my horse ride in Mexico with that picture, Yitzhak... but I was not so far in the Pacific ocean... though I was a little wet because we went a little in the water...

Nice picture. But, for the framing, I think it could be better with more space on the right (in front of the guys) than on the left.

Parfaite composition aquatique; l'idée est très originale.

The horses seem to appreciate the freshness of water. Perfect watery composition; the idea is very original.

J'aime beaucoup votre photo, elle nous offre un quotidien peu banal. La photo en elle même est réussie dans sa composition et j'aime bien l'idée que vous avez eu de ne pas montrer le ciel.

Excellent one, I would have placed the riders closer to the frame borders (right & bottom), but this is a matter of taste, it's excellent as it is. Nice catch Yitzhak !

A fine action shot. I see what the others meant about the photo needing more space but I actually think I prefer this one to your latest one -- but only just. They are both good photos that have advantages.

Amazing photograph! It would have been nice to see a little more background, but I understand that sometimes to get the picture quickly it is hard to "set up". They look like fine horses too! Awesome!

Wel, I am not used to see horses and their riders on the water and it looks really nice and good.
Also you choose very well the lens and you made a good composition.
