Photographer's Note
We were very disappointed with the weather ! There is no doubt that the Black Sea regions of eastern Anatolia are among the wettest places in the world, but there's hope all the time. So it was a challenge, with the light and also with the thin rain which seldom let us free. We were approaching Savsat, a small town near the Georgian Border, when I spotted this minaret straight out of the trees that had almost the same shape. The mosque itself was hidden by the vegetation.. So much the better I thought. Some autumn colors and the clouds did the rest.

What a fabulous composition, Izzet - so much depth and detail - and the matching shapes of the minaret and the trees are just wonderful. It proves that there are plenty of photo ops on rainy days if you keep an eye out for them. Cheers . . . David

Selamlar İzzet Bey,
Harkulade ve huzur verici bir fotoğraf, renklerin güzelliğinden midir, yoksa dağlardaki sisten midir, insanı alıp götürüyor bu fotoğraf...
Ellerinize sağlık.
Sarhan.

Hi Izzet. This photo is a good example of how to turn disappointing weather into a friend for photography - because the result you got is a nice one that conveys the autumnal mood in an authentic way. I like the layered apperance you get from the haze interacting with the treetops, and the minaret's spire is a nice detail as it emerges from the colorful trees in seemingly perfect upward alignment.

Hello Izzet,
my eye is drawn to the tower right away, and looking around, I see the repetition of this shape in many different ways. Very well balance of lines and colours, and as you say in your note, the clouds and the mist in the trees did the rest for a beautiful impression.

Bravo. So many great elements in one picture - the contrast of the minaret with the rest of the scene, the autumn colors, and the fog veiling the pines... Great picture, as all of your other pictures are. Tebrikler.

Great - you catched all different colors of autumn! The white minaret is an eye-catcher in your composition and a very good contrast!

Hi Izzet,
A kind of "fairy tale" picture with a very mystic mood. A very interesting and well taken picture.
Kind regards
Gunnar
