Istanbul Sapphire sunset, a photo from Istanbul, Marmara

Photographer's Note

Taken at sunset from the highest skyscraper in Turkey which is called the Sapphire. The top is at 235m at it is situated near the 4.Levent subway station in the European part of Istanbul. Price is 18TL (=EUR 6) for adults and 15TL (=EUR 5) for 65+ and students.

You can go all the way up to the roof where you have a 360 degree view over Istanbul. This was taken with the camera pointing to the south.

An amazing image Gilbert, with the sun's rays shooting over the very crowded city, and lighting up the coloured roofs. I think you got your money's worth going to the top of the sky-scraper.

This is a truly magical view over the wonderful city of Istanbul. The sun just peeking out behind the clouds bathes the city in a warm and golden light that is most pleasant and the small houses and their red roofs are gorgeous.

Amazing colours in the sky! I love those sun beams highlighting parts of the city. One of my favs on TE.
You were there two weeks after me, I wish I had been that lucky with the weather (mine was wet, grey and more grey).
