Peri Bacalari, a photo from Nevsehir, Central Anatolia

Photographer's Note

Near the road between Urgup and Ortahisar (Peri Bacalari?). I had arrived in Capadocia that morning and after having checked in at the hotel in Ortahisar I went trying my luck at the end of the afternoon. I drove only a couple of quilometers on the road to Urgup and found this famous group of "fairy chimneys".

A startling and impressive rock formation. Of course Cappadocia is famous for its unique geology, and you have found, just a little way from your hotel, this fantastic grouping. The late afternoon sun has help sculpt the rocks beautifully.

We see regular the same picture but every photographer takes the composition on an other way, this makes everything nice, and better.
Colours and sharpness make your picture attractive.
Perspective and depth are perfect.

Hello José,
You must have climbed a bit to be able to present this beautiful view of the chimneys.
Looking closer at the chimney in the center, it seems that people have carved a ladder into the rock to get to that small opening. Perhaps that one has been inhabited in ancient times.
The warm tones of the rocks make the chimneys stand out well under the blue sky.
