Photographer's Note
Wadi, an Arabic word, means a dry river bed that contains water only after some heavy rains. This is one of several that I photographed in the outlying Hatta region of Dubai. The landscape is mostly dry, rocky and rugged, but these oasis-like spots allow nature to flourish in naturally protected corners and provide an interesting contrast for the tourist and photographer who can get away from the shopping hell of central Dubai for a day or two.

andrew,
what catches my eyes is the meandering river with gentle flow. good color and your composition with the elements is just great. a solitary moment well seen and captured.

This is a very nice composition, Andrew!
I like to see the signs of life in this rugged and somewhat hostile landscape, the water and the greenery make a pleasant contrast...
Good details and nice colours!

Hi Andrew,
I love exotic pictures from exotic destination, it's fullly the case here ! Waoow you've been in UAE, there are not that much who go there :)
This is a nice picture, of a wadi with some water in the river (that can be rare in that country), difficult to handle with the orientation of the sun, but you succeed
Congratulations Andrew :)

The curving lines of the river bed is very handsome and leads eye to a surprise for me--a splash of wild green growth in such an arid climate. Nice rhythm to the echoing mountain peaks in distance.

Hi Andrew.
I've been looking through your photos and I must say you have been a lot of interesting places, and taken some good shots:) I picked out this one to comment as it has a good story:)It's amazing that land gets so arid and still contains lush green bushes.
I like the shot but as I studied it closely I saw a lot of compression lines that disrupts this image:(
Personaly I would have cropped out just the top of the picture to remove that little dip in the mountains, and maybe some of the left side.

Hi Andrew,
That's very interesting to see some green and water in a photo from inner Arabia.
To avoid the white sky, you could crop the top. But them you'd loose the mountains. So, I guess you did a good choice.
