More of colorful Shibam: this door, with its nicely carved horizontal beams is typical of the style used in Shibam, as is its dark reddish-brown color (though other colors, like blue, are used as well); what struck me here was the contrast with the pale blues and smoothness of the walls.

I have no idea what the writing on the wall means. You often see house numbers hand-written like this - '33', I think, at the top here but there is something below that that isn't a number: the name of the family that lives here? If anyone can read Arabic, please jump in!
