Photographer's Note
Downtown Toronto (and indeed, many of its residential areas) has a good number of alleyways serviceable for using as normal walkways. In fact, that's a helluva an idea for a series of photos, but I shall wait for less gloomy weather. The alley pictured in this photo, extending from almost Bloor street in the north to College street at its southernmost end, has been enhanced by the city to such an extent that it sports bars and boutiques along the way. The backs of buildings have been sandblasted and given facelifts which the fronts of these same buildings on the major thoroughfare don't sport. An interesting distinction.
