Photographer's Note

This picture shows a unique feature of one of the 6 new subway stations added to Toronto's subway network yesterday. It is at the York Universality Station, at the heart of the campus. There are two entrances of the station, the north entrance is on the left side of the picture, the south entrance is not visible. Between the entrances is a “light-well” in front of the large glass wall on the west side of the building connecting the entrances This provides ample daylight and an interesting view to and from the underground concourse, from where the passengers go down to the platforms below. This station was designed by the renown London, UK-based Foster + Partners architects. I am sure this will become an architecture landmark in Toronto There are two other views of the station in the Workshop.
