are those ducks? I cant tell the difference. (just like bunny and rabbit).
anyway, afternoon, lake shore west (lake ontario). I thought they were adorable. with their little afternoon trip.
I dont know about the colors. I like the effect of brightening and darkening again towards the top, but I am not sure about contrast and saturation

Those are indeed ducks! The one leading the way is a young female and the one in her wake is a male (yeah!).

Many of us would have ended up with an immensely boring shot holdning the cam horizontal, but the vertical composition gets all the subtle colour nuances in the water and the sky.

Looks like an Edward Hopper to me!

Nice simple and effective shot in a blue harmony.
just the sloped you know what... (well, quite strangely the pier looks horizontal but not the horizon...), this kind of pic also needs very smooth noisefree tones. I feel that a good cleaning through neatimage would improve it.

great shot niva! the sky and the water almost mix into one colour I think if u would crop a few cm from the sky.
this could go straight to a magazine.

Beautiful shot, I especially like the way the blue sky is reflected on the water and the graduate change in the blue color from bottom (dark) to the top of the image (light) also I agree that croping about half of the sky could have brought the ducks (more)out

That would be a north American Mallard drake and female.

Ducks are one of my favorite animals to photo graph. It very hard to get a good shot of them because of the elements water, distance, movement and light.

This photo the water looks great and the jetty realy adds to the comp.
