Photographer's Note

Amicalement,
Emilius

Hello Diane
What an interesting sculptural group, and a good photograph to present it to us. The statue in the foreground at least looks as if the inspiration for this came from the Polynesian islands, though maybe it's local native traditions that are being referenced. Your photograph gives a good idea of the extent of the work, and is in a suitably muted colour palette. When the tide comes in, they are covered, and therefore deteriorating, I guess. Are they wooden or stone? A mutable artwork.

Hi Diane. Eerie, haunting work- a if these spirits are coming ashore from the deep sea, ghosts of drowned sailors and passengers from numerous shipwrecks, coming home. Regards. Klaudio.
