Photographer's Note

I figured since I had a little time tonight I would work on an old mistake, so I corrected this image that I first posted last year. I over-sharpened it terribly so I applied no sharpening to it this time - but a closer crop to eliminate some of the washed out sky. I have always liked this photo, so it was time for a re-post. I added the satellite coordinates, too, in case you are interested in where exactly I was standing when this was shot.

Here's my original note:

I had a few minutes this morning - didn't get as far as I thought I would on my trip back to St. Louis, so I spent the night in a motel.

Here's a shot from Ottawa's Parliament Hill in 2006. This is the final changing of the guard for that year. Many of these soldiers are college students on their summer military duty, the ones we were able to talk to said they had to go back to school in the next week.

We also toured the Parliament building. That was a nice tour, it taught us much about the differences between Canadian and American government.

We went back to Ottawa in 2007 just to go to the farmer's market on our way home from Montreal.

I used my Olympus 8080WZ point and shoot. It has a great depth of field, even in f3.5. The day was overcast and somewhat dark, so the sky blew out a bit. That's ok, it isn't really needed for this composition.
