Ferryland Lighthouse, a photo from Newfoundland, Atlantic

Photographer's Note

“Ferryland Lighthouse” is the name of this photograph and it was taken yesterday on a wonderful trip to Ferryland. The Costello family, whom we are related, ran this lighthouse for many years. It is automated now.
This was my daughters’ first visit to Ferryland and they really enjoyed the picturesque scenery and meeting their distant and not so distant relatives.
We had to lunch at the lighthouse which is now a great restaurant.
This photograph was level adjusted and saved for the web.

What a facinating piece of history, and for your daughter it must have been a memorable trip.
Gret shot - love the blues in the sky and the lighthouse itself is a stunning building,

Great shot of this little light house, with this view on the sea. A bit oversaturated for my opinion, but well done.

simple, and very effective landscape, that speaks of homeliness and faraway-ness at the same time. The figure seated on the bench is a great and crucial presence. So small, yet, we are naturally lending thoughts to it. Really nice shot, Jim.

Hi Jim,
This landscape is beautiful.
I like the colors of the house and the contrast with the beautiful sky.
In my opinion, the foreground is too empty and either something should be shown here, or the foreground should be cropped off.
The point of view is very well chosen and I would like to visit this place.

J'aime beaucoup cette image.
Elle a une très belle netteté.
Les couleurs sont magnifiques avec ce ciel d'un bleu pur qui contraste avec le rouge du phare.

It has a very beautiful clearness.
The colors are splendid with this sky of a pure blue which contrasts with the red of the headlight.
