Hi John, It looks cold over there. A good capture of the light snow covered banks of the small brook with bare tree trunk and gray cloud in the background. I enjoy this painting-alike picture. Well done.

Hi John, I love the color palet in this excellent winterscene. The compo is spot on with the creek leading us to the exciting teaming up of the barren trees and the powerful sky. Very strong, very atmospheric....I like this a lot.

What a range of tones in the sky (you always find interesting skies)The image works well in the vertical format, with the stream leading our eye into the frame. The light dusting of snow serves to remind us winter is here.

A nice piece of nature of which I like the little snow. The colours are also fine, but I think there a small lack of sharpness. Good work anyway.

Fantastic shot John! The earth tones of this shot are very inviting, and they liven up this winter scene. The snow lightens up things as well, and shows the outlines of the logs and other things too. The sky is very unusual, adding a lot of texture to the scene. Great work!

Hi John. I like the lack of heavy sharpening here as I think it gives it a mood all its own and a painterly feel. Like others have said there is noise but I see from the filename that you already ran it through noise filtering software. I wonder if it's from the Picasa 2 nd filter again. Probably so. Nice catch John!

Bonjour John,
L'hiver a déjà chassé l'automne, il semble vouloir l'écraser et l'empêcher de garder aux arbres leurs robes de toutes les couleurs. Il n'en demeure pas moins que la prise de vue ne manque pas de beauté. C'est une véritable peinture présentée.

A very interesting photo. The tones are very "earthy" and the blue patches of sky add a lot in this cold scene. Well chosen point of view with the river taking us into the frame.

Curious but at the same marvellous these soft granular focus that you maintained here while contrast and depht are pulled up to the maximum, gives straight an impression of a painting in digital, unusual remarkable fine tableau of this detail of snowy winter perfectly framed with the brook in front towards the trees catching the clouds.

Hi John,
A beautifully composed landscape and the overcast did helped to create that special atmosphere that we are feeling. The small amount of blue peeping through the clouds provided a bit of those higher pitches which makes the scene lovely. The tactful handling of this simple scene resulted in a great shot. Nice work John;

I think what really makes this shot work is the comparitive similarities between the sky with the blotches of white, like the ground with the dusting of snow. The silhouettes of the tree break up the image nicely and really become the focal point of the shot.
The image could be a touch sharper- but In doing so, I think it will amplify the noise.
Overall a nice shot John...

A really fabulous image, John. It looks like a pastel. There is a lot of noise, though, I think Neatimage could straight it up straightaway. Have a wonderful holiday season!
