Photographer's Note
A shot from last years summer trip to Vancouver. It was a overcast day in the city as I stepped out onto the balcony of my hotel room for a view down Vancouver's famed Robson Street, when I spotted this seagull perched just down the railing.
I motioned for my cousins to come out and take a look, as the brought out some snacks- he was more then interested in having a free meal and came for a closer inspection.
This shot of the seagull affords some good views across Stanley Park and the North Shore Mountains across Coal Harbour.

Hi Dan,
I like the shot of your visitor in your balcony. Oh, so high! I have a little problem with altitude, on the other hand I'm fascinated and I love skyscrapers.

Hi Dan,
This is a nostalgic shot for me, as having grown up in Vancouver I have pleasant memories of visiting my aunt in the West end near Stanley Park and her treating us to dinner at the Sylvia Hotel, where we were often greeted by seagulls watching us eat through the glass...The pose you have captured here is quite unique, with superb clarity. The rose/brown building below contrasts nicely with the drabber more typical facades surrounding. The angled ledge is apropos. Its a keeper, Dan.

Hi Dan. That's a pretty cool shot. The composition and DOF are both perfectly done. Even though the focus is on the seagull I have no trouble making out the landmarks in the background. Nice catch Dan!

Dan I certainly do love this gull photo. And with the kit lens too. This gull is certainly brave and in need of a meal. I like the background blurred here. A very nice Vancouver setting indeed!

Hi Dan,
Excellent capture of this seagull on the balcony! You captured him with all his beautiful details and colours. Having the buildings and downtown Vancouver in the background is fantastic! Great shot, Dan!

Feeding the birds or bribing them to pose.
In fact, you were lucky to have just one of these pest to pose for you, otherwise it will have been diifcult.
i like the view beyond as it makes me relive some nice souvenirs.
Take care.

Hello Dan.
I think seagulls have wonderful personalities...kinda like a positive crow! The moment is quite nice as he is in a different position than we usually see with shots of birds. The perspective is very nice as it does afford us a nice view of the city below.

CHris.

Hi Dan,
"he" has chosen the best point of view to overlook the town.
Good perspective and sharpness of the bird itself. Also, the slightly blurred background allows us a nice view.
