Yes, it works, very very well. The wide angle and slow shutter and conspiring weather makes this a superb shot. I will have to go there :D.

Beautiful place with the brooding sky above and the white surf below. It must be a lonely existence being a tree on that exposed rock formation in the sea.. ;-))

Very good exposure time. It looks like some kind of maelstrom now, trying to suck the separated rock into the deep. And the colours are beautiful.

Great shot Ian, I have been meaning to go there for a while. The colour and mood are top notch, I would have been temped to use slightly higher shutter speed to avoid overexposed water on the right, but fine artistic image nevertheless.
