Photographer's Note
“Two Icebergs” is the name of this photo taken yesterday on a walk on Signal Hill. It was on overcast day with fog in the far distance near Cape Spear as you can see in this photo. The closest iceberg is at the entrance to St. John’s harbor next to Fort Amherst Lighthouse.
Just imagine that only 1/10 of the iceberg is at the surface. It is certainly a large piece of ice and the small pieces of ice near the lighthouse is an indication of the iceberg breaking up on the rocks.
Signal Hill is a great place to walk this time of year.

Jim, the contrast is a bit low, or maybe it is just the moisture rich environment near the sea but other than that this is a great shot. The bergs are stand out identifiable and the buildings and lght on the point scale it wonderfully. In addition to indicating how large the ice is it als gives a good indication of just how deep the water is that close to the shore. Great capture.

Bonjour Jim,
