Photographer's Note

While photographing the sunset along the coast from my hotel balcony in Mexico, I swung around and saw this scene behind me. I was first struck by the full Moon rising directly above the peak of the mountain. Then, as I composed my shot, I was further intrigued by the lone trailer home perched atop the ridge.

Random isolated buildings (everything from run-down shacks to mansions) dot the Western Baja coastline, often without any apparent logic to their location, or infrastructure (roads, phone/power lines) to support them.

I think this particular shot shows the isolation of many of these plots of land. Plus, I like how the setting sun colored the scene.
