Photographer's Note

This convent (mission) was erected by the local indegenous inhabitants of the region of San Juan de Teotihuacan, guided by the Catholic Spanish monks. This is the first monastery that was built in all of Mexico (1524) and it is known as the Convent of Saint Agustin Acolman. These days, the ex-convent of Acolman has a museum and mass services on Sundays.
