Photographer's Note
Following in from my previous upload, this is a shot taken into the golden light of early evening. I liked the way the light gave the nets an ethereal gossamer look.

Hi Rosemary,
I am very lazy in critiquing lately :(. I must somehow catch up. Amazing colors here. What a splendid idea to stay behind the nets. The view is fantastic. I like this composition very much.

Caves! Mermaids! Treasure chests! This makes me want to go and read Treasure Island...
I am a sucker for views out of almost anything and this is a stunner. Love the way the golden brown sand picks up the gold of the evening light, and the bluish tints in the white nets to the bluish white of the sea. Not to mention marvelous texture (as usual in your shots!) of the nets, almost like cotton candy.
Are you taking the photo from inside a cave or am I just imagining that? In any case, great job! I want to be there, enjoying something simple cooked over a fire...

WoW! Rosemary
this is inspired. In the thumbnails I thought it was an underwater shot, but full size it is an absolute stunner. A creative and wonderful opportunist image that is both imaginative and original. The effect is amazing and I love it. Love the title too!
Have a great weekend - regards Brian.

Hello Rosemary,I do admire the way that you have managed to get the threads of the fishing nets so sublimely sharp and so very well exposed as well as keeping the azure sea level and equally well portrayed.
Imaginatively composed,it`s a lovely piece of photography.
Kind regards Les.

Hi Rosemary,
The fishing nets provide an interesting part of this picture and provides a natural separation between the golden part and the blue part. This looks like a very enjoyable place.

Hi Rosemary,
What a cool illusion, I could almost swear this was under water! The light from behind the nets looks fluid, like it's refracted through waters surface and the blue tones add nicely to the effect. Great shot.
Have a great weekend

Ciao Rosemary
dalla miniatura non si capiva molto, ma quando la foto si ingrandisce, diventa un bellissimo scatto.
Grandissima idea e splendida interpretazione, una composizione da manuale, dove colori, forme e luci si completano in una unica soluzione.
Complimenti

Hello Rosemary,
Clever idea to shoot this picture from behind the net and looking out to sea. It is almost as if you are emerging from a dark tunnel with the golden light at the end. The fine netting could have looked a jumble but you have managed to frame it in a way that gives shapes and detail and a beautiful, curtained view.
Excellent.
Kind Regards, Ann

Good morning Rosemary,
What an attractive shot!
I just love the word 'gossamer' it takes me back to childhood books and carries such wonderful, visual images! This shot deserves the word! It is like the very finest lace, spun by a talented and very enthusiastic spider, to protect its precious eggs! The light, coming through the web, is glorious and makes a natural link to the sand, in the distance.
have a lovely w/e,
Bev :-).

Dear Rosemary
A very original and attractive composition. The fishing nets look like a fairy cave and they contrast beautifully against the blue and gold tones, aswell as providing a natural frame for the photo. Excellent shot, and something very different.

Hello Rosemary,
this is a very lovely image created by textures, colours and shadows. A very intriguing point of view that reminds me of children's games in which they find magical places just like that and call ordinary elements whatever they like in order to create a magical and exciting universe full of challenges. I think that, apart from visual pleasure, you're offering the viewer the creative task to do the same:) Your light management is wonderful and the textures look amazingly subtle. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely weekend,
Ourania

Hi Rosemary,
You found an original viewpoint and I can only assume that finding it was far from obvious. I like the variation of colours between cool blue on the right and warm orange where the sun sets. I wonder how you managed to get brightness variations in control. I guess they were pretty big on such a view.

Hi Rosemary, I had commented on your photo a short while ago but it doesnt show for some reason. As a new member and you commented on my Mussenden Temple photo I felt I would delve into commenting on others and will do more so as I get to grips with this site.
When I first opened this photo I felt like I was in a cocoon of a giants spider's web with the floats on the net being 'eggs'. I do like this shot and must check out more of your work tomorrow

Hello Rosemary,
How on Earth did I miss this spectacular photograph? It is truly stunning!
This is a scene which many of us would have seen - or, at least, just looked at - and never had the wit to consider that it might make a fine photograph. And those who did have the savvy to notice it would almost certainly have been put off by the very considerable difficulties in capturing it.
But you have not been discouraged by the difficulties in capturing this scene and you have coped with those difficulties admirably! The warm light of the low sun permeating through the tangled netting on the left and lighting up those attractive floats is in fine contrast to the deep blue of the ocean and sky. A fabulous photograph with superb light and colours and good composition. And your exposure is spot-on too.
If I have any negative comment to make - and it's a very minor one - I'm afraid that the more I look at (and admire) this one, the more my attention is drawn to the bit of debris caught in the net at upper right: there was probably nothing you could have done about that but it does draw attention away from the two boats in the water. I've done a very quick workshop for you (I hope you don't mind) to get rid of that bit of weed or whatever.
Fabulous!
Kind Regards,
John.

An "ethereal gossamer look" is indeed just what you have here ~ wow, what a lovely, lovely shot, Rosemary... the light and colors are just sumptuous.
Who knew fishing nets could be captured in such a magical way?!
Rapunzel would be envious, for this is truly straw spun into gold :)

hello rosemary,
I was browsing your beautiful gallery and I was riveted by this shot - the colours and the light are quintessentially summery, as a matter of fact they could be the perfect moodboard for one of those interior design magazines which I keep buying every month :)
this is the kind of picture that creates the desire to be there, to be flooded by the same light, to get entangled in the same nets... gorgeous :)

Yes! the amount of the messy nets, and the down sun going through is great!!! it just hides perfectly the beach and the sea, but we still have enough to guess where it is...
