Photographer's Note
A scene from the old fisherman’s district, Barceloneta ~ Cal Chusco is a popular local hangout for passing the time with friends, a cold beer and their famous bombas or fried fish.
For me, walking by with a camera, the variety of people hanging out in the small space between Cal Chusco and the parked car was very appealing, especially the little girl leaning against the Audi waiting for her papa to be finished talking and drinking.
I have tried to find the meaning of the words, "cal chusco" which in Catalan, appear to be "needing funny." I don't know if I've gotten that right, but it certainly seems to describe the situation for the bored little girl :)

Hello Kristin
"Touch my car, I smash your face." But the little girl can get away with it OK. Nice little street encounter.

Hello Kristin,
There are few members of TE whose pictures so regularly arouse my curiosity as yours. When looking at others' thumbnails I think "there's another house" or "another technically perfect but boring view". With your pictures I never know quite what to expect until I see them at full size, but most of them show people in interesting situations and they're often amusing. Nothing much is happening here, but there is lot of interaction - and lack of it. The little girl, hopelessly bored, seems to be looking inwards, whereas the man to the left watches her with a smile. The second man from the right is watching you.
Kind regards,
Gert

You really do have an eye for great street photos. This one fits the bill! Well composed shot giving us a great glimpse of daily life in Barcelona. You've also captured a great expression from the guy who noticed you. These types of photos really are tough to time right and can also require a bit of courage at times. You've captured something great with this one.
Technically, you've shot this well. If anything I could've maybe hoped for a bit more sharpness in the foreground and only a slight bit of CW rotation. TFS!

Bonsoir Miss Kristin,
Alright, you win todays round of Paris Vs. Barcelona...this is great! :)
I'm going to piggyback some from Gerts comment, your pictures are quite the proverbial box of chocolates, we never know what we're going to get...and it's fun anticipation to what could be next. Just make sure it's not something with coconut though. :)
It generally takes quick reflexes, a keen eye, and some Spidey senses to catch these scenes...and you do a wonderful job in capturing the spontaneous and candid nature of the world around us. This group couldn't have posed for a better shot, and the glance towards your camera from the man in the middle once again makes an immediate connection. I can only assume that little girl is bored out of her mind...or is she, who knows...a picture with probably a thousand scenarios. Well done K! Buen día por delante.
Ciao,
J
